Are you a Google account user? If yes, you don’t need to get worried about recovering your contacts. You can easily back up the contacts stored on your phone or SIM card. You can restore these contacts on the new phone if you lose or need to replace your phone. The contacts will automatically appear on your phone after you sign in the Google account in which you have saved those contacts. So, you don’t need to restore contacts under this scenario. However, this write-up is all about the steps to recover Google contacts. So, we go with the steps to restore contacts from Google backup.
Open the Settings application on your Android phone
Click on Google
Navigate to the Services window and select Restore contacts
Do you have multiple Google Accounts?
If yes, to choose which account's contacts are needed to be restored
Click on From account
Now you need to tap the phone with the contacts to be copied
Turn off SIM card or Device storage if you don’t want to copy contacts from either of them
Hit the Restore icon then
Wait until you see "Contacts restored"
During you recover Google contacts, your device will only restore the contacts that it doesn't have, and hence, it will avoid duplicates. Your restored contacts will also get saved to your current Google Account and other devices.
